I am a lawyer in London – part technology lawyer, part legal technologist. I build technology to improve legal services, and provide legal services for technology, data and regulated environments.
I have an amazing wife and three boys.
What is here
Essays, written to be read whenever you find them rather than on the day they went up. A few to start with:
- The 90/10 rule – possession is nine-tenths of the law, but what counts as possession when the thing is intangible?
- How do you stay up to date? – there is no such thing as too much information, only filter failure.
- You can just build stuff – you don’t need a CS degree, a team, or permission.
- Data is the new oil – a filthy analogy.
And the things I have shipped: a digital regulation tracker, an award-winning contract analyser, a tool for comparing AI stances, contract clauses that escaped their PDF, and a chess app for a Kindle.
